31st March 2003 THREE CARE FERRARI ENTRIES FOR LE MANSWhen the ACO recently announced its entry list for the 71st running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, there were smiles all round in one company. Care Racing Development, the sportscar racing division of the Care Group, an international group of companies owned by Frédéric Dor, had three of its Ferrari 550 Maranello race cars accepted in the GTS category, all built by British-based Prodrive. Two will be campaigned by Veloqx Prodrive Racing, the joint venture between Prodrive and Veloqx Motorsport which took 2nd place in the GTS class at Sebring just a few weeks ago. The same six drivers who were at Sebring will be representing the team at Le Mans (Burt, Davidson, Davies, Enge, Kox and Turner). The third entry is for Luc Alphand Aventures who, with Solution F, will be challenging for GTS honours for the first time. The team, who have previously entered the GT category, will be announcing their driver line-up in due course. Care Racing was formed in 2000 to undertake the development, production, sale and racing of sports cars. Their first technical partner was Prodrive who developed for racing the Ferrari 550 Maranello GTS. Other partners for 2003 are BMS Scuderia Italia who are operating and managing three Ferrari 550s in the FIA GT Championship, one on behalf of Care Racing, and Solution F who will enter one car in the FFSA French GT Championship.
